DIESEL THROTTLE BODY > INSPECTION

NOTICE:

Perform this inspection with the engine off.

1. Inspect the throttle valve.
   
   

   1. Turn the ignition switch off.

      *1	Component without harness connected (Diesel Throttle Body)

   2. Remove the air cleaner hose.
      

   3. Visually confirm the position of the throttle valve in the diesel throttle body assembly.
      

      OK:

      Partially open
      

      If the valve is fully open or fully closed, replace the diesel throttle body assembly.
      

   4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      

   5. Visually confirm the position of the throttle valve in the diesel throttle body assembly.
      

      OK:

      Fully open
      

      If the result is not OK, replace the diesel throttle body assembly.
      

   6. Visually confirm the motion of the throttle valve in the diesel throttle body assembly when the ignition switch is turned from ON to off.
      

      OK:

      Throttle valve should move from fully open to fully closed and then to partially open.
      

      If the result is not OK, replace the diesel throttle body assembly.
      

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Resistance:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   1 (M-) - 2 (M+)	20°C (68°F)	0.3 to 100 Ω

   If the result is not specified, replace the diesel throttle body assembly.
